At Lakota Funds, we work with partner organizations on the reservation and beyond to provide tribal members with a full range of financial services.
Our partners allow us to extend our reach and provide more individuals and families with the support they need to achieve financial independence, increase their assets, and contribute to a thriving economy.
Lakota Federal Credit Union
Lakota Funds helped to spearhead the creation of the Lakota Federal Credit Union–the only depository institution on the Pine Ridge reservation–to fill a critical gap in the financial services available to our community members.
The credit union can help with:
Establishing checking and savings accounts
Applying for a mortgage to purchase a home or refinance an existing home
Apply for an auto loan, and more
South Dakota Native Homeownership Coalition
Together with the South Dakota Native Homeownership Coalition, we are working hard to create pathways to homeownership for all tribal members.
Our collective efforts–including a construction internship program, inspector certification training, and contractor capacity-building–is increasing opportunities for builders and available housing stock for individuals and families.
The Coalition can also help connect individuals and families with down payment assistance to purchase a home.
Oglala Lakota Arts Center
Lakota Funds works alongside First Peoples Fund to support artists as both entrepreneurs and culture bearers in our communities.
Together we partnered to launch the Oglala Lakota Arts Center here on Pine Ridge, which serves as a hub for our local artists to access a range of support services, from studio and gallery space and computers for digital work and electronic marketplace access.
The Arts Center now serves as a central gathering place for our team to provide local artists with business development training and access to financial services.
