Eagle Nest Housing
In 1997 Lakota Funds made history again by creating the first Native American, tax credit financed, low-income housing project in America. From 1997 to 1999, thirty low-income houses were constructed.
The goal is to provide alternative housing opportunities to qualified low-income reservation families. The original intent was to eventually convert these thirty low-income units to homeownership for existing and future tenants by participating in the Individual Development (savings) Account, financial literacy training, credit repair training and home maintenance training opportunities.
The Lakota Funds is accepting housing applications. For questions relating to the application process or available housing units can be answered by contacting Darrell Twiss at: (605)455-2500, ext. 13, or by email.
