Miranda Red Cloud is a Native artist, enrolled member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe, and resident of the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, where she has resided most of her life.
Miranda recalls the first time that she became interested in beading and quill work. She was 11 years old when her aunt showed her basics of sewing, beading, and quill work. She said "it was from that moment on that she knew that this was more than just a hobby, it was passion, a way for her to keep her tradition alive through traditional artwork, such as quill and bead work."
Miranda is expanding her art business by utilizing online platforms. She hopes she will be able to give back to her community and bring in some extra income for her family.
